Aho! I picked up a signed copy of Room for Dessert at a Friends of the Library book sale shelf. I've not been overwhelmed to make anything yet. Perhaps it'll come to me. Still busy harvesting and preserving the garden. No sweet trees or bushes. Peaches done for the year, but I've been working pears. I hope to be done with those very soon. Rascals they are.
Unfortunately not. Bookstores and shops don't favor having events close together, but if there are copies of books leftover, there will be signed copies available at the shop : )
Looking forward to receiving your new book. Hope you have a wonderful event.
It's the height of tomato season here. Made your tomato tart recipe last night. So yummers.
Also wanted but didn't share that I'm right there with you about peeling fresh garlic. I love garlic but have come to dread having to peel it until your article where you talked about the various devices you wanted to try so I went to Williams Sonoma and purchased the two devices you mentioned. Both were very good, so much so I've gone back to buying fresh garlic. Thank you for mentioning them. My favorite is the hinged one that collects the crushed garlic that can then be opened for chopping. Effective and super easy to clean.
Sorry for digressing. Most important is your new book and event. Have a wonderful time. Thank you so much for all that you share. You are one of my favorite people to follow. Hugs.
Garlic presses got a lot of bad press and it became a sport to make fun of them. I don't mind chopping fresh garlic but it is another cutting board to clean - and to keep others in your household from using to cut up fruit ; )
Hopefully, your local fans who haven't yet been there will go to that shop and when the long distance ones (like me) who go to Paris will visit when they next are in town.
Congratulations. I am looking forward to my preordered copy next Tuesday. Paris sounds like a lot more fun but alas I canβt be there. Hope you get to Oakland or Berkeley on your book tour.
