I had a cold after not having anything for two plus years and it lasted three weeks!!! I think I would just rather have a cold every year than that. Hope you feel better soon! I love the new Julia because it does peek into her personal life. Great acting, I am loving it.
Thank you for all the notes of things to look at. Hope. you are better, I too am suffering from the same here in Lake Tahoe CA where it is snowing presently.
I am so looking forward to the “Paris favorites” issue! I will be in France (including Paris) in May, for the first time since the pandemic began, and I can’t wait to revisit all the old faves and try new places. I already have it on my shopping list to get the French bio soap recommended by you, Christine Ferber’s jams, and chocolates from the Jean-Charles Rochoux shoppe.
I hope you feel better soon, Daveeed ;)
Warm regards from your old stomping ground - San Francisco.
I have one word for you - Flonase. It used to be prescription, but now it is over the counter. It isn't the old fashioned nose spray. It works on the inflammation. Once a night an hour before bed. It might take two nights for it to do the job, but it will do the job. It helps to gently massage your sinuses after you use it.
David, if you're not doing so, take an antihistamine like fexofenadine (Allegra here), and sleep with an air purifier. I'm a serious allergy sufferer, especially tree pollens, and my arsenal is the above plus fluticasone and Tiger Balm to decongest.
Such a great YouTube video on cleaning your Kitchenaid Mixer! Wow, who knew you could just unscrew so many parts and clean under them! I used a toothpick on mine previously, but now I will get out my screwdriver and get to work!

Feel better! Did the salt spray work?
Hard to say! I think it just sterilizes or clears things out. I don't think it's quite a remedy but not sure :)
Feel better soon! Thank you for sharing the emotional support raccoon!
I almost blew my tea out of my nose watching Kipper fall asleep.
For some reason, I think I watched it at least a dozen times. It totally cracks me up...
Me too. He's like a mirror of the last two years.

Thanks for the tip about Julia Child - love Sarah Lancashire!
Thanks for Kitchen Aid video link. My mixer suffered a massive oil leak after being tipped on its side while packed for a kitchen renovation.

Feel better! I am really enjoying the Julia series!
Great issue!! Jam packed w/useful info. Reminds me of Herb Caen’s 3-dot journalism. So sorry you are feeling punk. Get well soon.
Even with an incapacitated head, you are the funniest writer ever! Thanks for starting my day with belly-laughs!!
When I’m in Paris and have similar symptoms I purchase Actifed Jour & Nuit from the pharmacy. Always worked. Can’t buy it in the States.
