Hi Everyone!
We’ve all been reading about—and experiencing—more and more issues on social media platforms. Places that we love(d) to interact and congregate have become less-friendly to sharing ideas and stories.
Social media has come a long way since most of us intitially jumped in, and something that many of us love and participate in (it’s been such a great way to connect with a wide audience-including many of you!) has become dependent on the whims of algorithms and other factors, which decide what we want to see and read, rather than letting us do it for ourselves. I don’t expect everyone to be interested in everything that I have to say😉 but I don’t like that social media platforms often show less than 5% of what I post to my followers (who choose to follow me) - and vice-versa.
So I was interested when Substack launched Substack Notes, a way to interact that has no ads or algorithms, and lets you (and I) choose who and what we want to see and read. If you’d like to check it out, you can join me there, as I’m giving it a whirl.
Notes is a brand new space for us to share links, short posts, photos, and more. I plan to use it for things that don’t fit into my newsletter, such as pictures and posts from favorite Paris restaurants and pastry shops, and other snippets of life.
Let’s see how it goes!
How to join
To check it out, go to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. (See down below, circled.)
As a subscriber to my newsletter, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around.
You can also share Notes of your own, including thoughts and pics of food, travel, and more!
If you encounter any issues or have additional questions how to use it, you can refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance.
I love reading about the evolution of your apartment. Looking forward to your update!
I am wondering the same - will this be instead of your posts and live videos on Instagram? I see that I’ll get an email from you of a new post on Notes (post-it-notes!) and then it’s up to me to check for your or followers’ additional comments on any particular note if I wish - similar to IG. Glad to hear there will be no ads!
