Hi there!
I’ve been writing my newsletter since circa 2005.
A quick intro to me: I’ve been a professional cook and pastry chef most of my life, and I wrote one of the very first food blogs, which I started in 1999. I’ve written nine books, including two memoirs about my life in Paris (The Sweet Life in Paris and L’Appart) as well as cookbooks on everything from baking and cooking in Paris, to chocolate and ice cream. My latest book, Drinking French, is filled with stories and 160 recipes for the iconic café drinks, cocktails, apéritifs, homemade liqueurs, and appetizer snacks of France.
My newsletters:
There are two versions of my newsletter:
One is free and comes out on the first of the month. Free subscribers will get some additional newsletters, podcasts, and recipes throughout the month.
Paid subscribers get all the recipes, as well as personal Paris stories, all of the recipes, Paris restaurant and bakery tips, interviews with friends in the culinary world, as well as podcasts and the ability to join in the community of commenters.
Why Subscribe?
My newsletter is reader-supported. Free subscribers get the monthly newsletter as well as additional newsletters at various times during the month.
Paid subscribers get unlocked access to all my newsletters and the entire archives, including past and present recipes. You’ll also get each and every Paris story, recipe, and more, plus the ability to comment and participate in discussions.
Stay up-to-date
Newsletters will arrive right in your Inbox. You can also install the Substack app to read them there:
I do hope you’ll enjoy being a part of my newsletter community but if you later decide that it’s not for you, it’s easy to unsubscribe using a simple link at the end of each newsletter. I have to admit that I’ll miss you, but we’ll always have Paris…
Merci!
-David
